Jamie Shackleton signs new Leeds deal to 2024

 


Leeds midfielder Jamie Shackleton has signed a new four-year contract with his hometown club.


The 20-year-old is a product of the Leeds Academy, having first joined the club aged seven.


He made his senior debut in August 2018, before making his first start three days later in the Carabao Cup.


Last season he made 22 appearances as Leeds won the Championship title and secured a return to the Premier League for the first time in 16 years.

 Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored twice as AC Milan got off to a winning start in Serie A against Bologna at the San Siro stadium. Ibrahimovic, 38, headed in Theo Hernandez's curling cross from the left in the first half before making it 2-0 from the spot after the break. The striker had earlier fired inches wide of the left post in an impressive display. He has now scored a double in three of his last five Serie A appearances. There was a debut for former Manchester City forward Brahim Diaz, on loan from Real Madrid, while it was the fourth season in which Ibrahimovic had scored in the opening match round of Serie A.   Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has tested positive for coronavirus. The 29-year-old is observing a 10-day self-isolation period, the Premier League club confirmed. As a result, the Germany international will miss City's opening league game of the season against Wolves on Monday (20:15 BST). "Everyone at the club wishes Ilkay a speedy recovery," Manchester City said in a statement. On Monday, the Premier League said that in the week leading up to Sunday, 20 September, 1,574 players and club staff were tested for coronavirus and, of these, there were three new positive cases.
